This file applies for releases of DarkFire IRCd versions 1.2.0 or later (including beta versions).
Most release files downloaded from dfircd.sourceforge.net or from SourceForge are originally created from CVS. What thismeans is that each directory in the release has a CVS subdirectory. Read on below for more information regarding CVS. However, due to problems with CVS, this will not always be the case.
CVS use is discouraged for most users and networks. Though the latest code is quickly available via CVS, it may introduce dangerous and unwanted bugs. Additionally, the frequency of updates of CVS code varies from less than 3 per week to sometimes more than 10 a day.
To important DarkFire IRCd via CVS:
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:email@example.com:/cvsroot/dfircd co darkfire
To update CVS code after it has been importanted (from the darkfire/ directory):
Sourceforge provides additional information about CVS here. Please note that the modulename used for CVS is darkfire.
Hosting services for this project are provided by Sourceforge.
